Hijacked dream party
Tonight's dream party is, unconventionally enough, not organised by the rift, but by Topher!
Thing is, he was sort of supposed to only pull in a few very specific, targeted people, and all of a sudden, this whole lot comes pouring in. See, he's working with someone with the power of ability amplification, making Topher's dream abilities obscenely powerful for tonight, and he's not quite used to it.
The dreamers will find themselves in an old mansion at nighttime. Lots and lots of rooms; several bedrooms and bathrooms of various sizes, studies, library, sitting rooms, kitchen, dining rooms, games/billiards room, even secret passageways... There's a fire roaring in every grate, everything is warmly lit, with lots of dark corners to sneak off to, comfortable couches, plenty of drinks tables. There's also a pervasive feeling that you're safe, that you can relax. That whispered secrets in the dark will be kept. And everyone will feel much less compelled to judge or mock upon hearing those secrets. A night for confessions. All of a sudden, it's hard to resist opening up...
Of course, the dreamers don't know there's someone listening in, seeing everything that goes on, sometimes even manipulating things to go the way he wants. Certain people with psychic/telepathic/dream abilities may eventually cotton on, though. But it'll take a while. But the secrets you tell in the meantime may not remain secrets for that long. Especially if those secrets are useful to certain other important players in the city, quite apart from the two factions our rifties have become familiar with.
[Mod note: Usual dream party rules apply. All players and characters are welcome, current members or no. Characters will remember or forget all dream events at players' discretion. Bear in mind that any events or information shared in this dream will be available to Topher, and, by extension, probably his bosses, such as Beatrice.]

He sits up straight and scoots back from the edge to put himself next to the platter when it arrives. This Bean gets it in a way he never expected a Bean would! Everything already laid out so he can eat it, and even on a nice platter! "Thanks," he says as he leans over the selection -- Aunt Euphony instilled at least that much etiquette into him. He reaches first for a crumb of something orange and frosted, biting into it straight from his hand. Then he pauses, staring at it for a second, before cramming more into his mouth like a teen possessed.

"It's really good!" he tells her around a mouthful of cake. For a second he looks like he's thinking of putting it down and trying the cookies, but the lure of the carrot cake is too strong and he just takes another bite. "'m Aglet."

"Well, no," he says, like it's the most obvious thing on Earth. To be fair, it kind of is. "I'm a Borrower."
no subject
She takes 'Borrower' at face value, even though it's nothing she's heard of, before. Usually if someone spots a little person in her universe, it turns out to be far more than what it looks like (there is, in fact, a special devision of SOF to handle said Others called the Tinkerbell patrol, and it's not a very popular assignment), but his shadows don't suggest any deceit.
"You're the first one I've met," she admits, eyebrows raised in silent invitation for a little elaboration, here.

He pauses, frowning as it belatedly occurs to him that he's broken the rule again, and not for a good reason like when he appeared on Jennifer's easy chair. "I guess that kind of makes me a weird Borrower," he admits with a little sigh. "I think I'm getting too used to the way Beans do things."
no subject
But all that takes a back seat to what he seems to be calling people. "You call humans 'beans'?" she asks, eyebrows raised.

Still, this one doesn't seem too bad. He's a good eater, at any rate. "How's the cookie?" she asks.

"I don't like being picked up," he admits. Then he gives her a thoughtful look -- he could switch sizes with her! But then she couldn't make more cookies for him. Hmm.
no subject
"Well, you could climb into a cup or something and I could carry that," she offers, throwing a distracted glance back at the kitchen. The latest batch of cookies are going to need to come out in a minute.
